The New Year will start in barely a day and soon, spring/summer will commence. We will be shedding those jackets and scarves in favour of something fresh and light. If you are already planning to make a few additions to your wardrobe or trying to make some edits, I’ve rounded up a spring/summer cheat sheet just for you. Here is to a more fashionable 2014!
Flower Power:
In the film, The Devil Wears Prada, Meryl Streep’s character Miranda Priestly, Runway editor exclaims “Florals for spring. Groundbreaking” while reviewing trends. Say what you may, florals are always a big trend for every season. While wearing it all over is a major faux pas – try picking a smaller print. We love Payal Pratap’s fresh take by pairing it with polka dots! Now that’s playful.

Sheer Romance:
Dare to bare. We all love showing off some skin during the summer. If you love doing that too but don’t like the tan lines that come with it, why not choose some sheer separates? Layer your crop top with a translucent cape or pick a floaty transparent maxi skirt and wear over tap shorts as seen at Namrata Joshipura.

Logo love:
Now this is a trend I’m really excited about. I’m tired of all those quirky prints of hands, feet and what not. Logo mania has set in and that’s the only one I fully advocate – no monogrammed bags for me! It harks back to the ’90s when it was a bonafide trend.
