It’s the end of the year. And while you are busy preparing for that major party bus, there is an electric excitement in the air and MissMalini calls it, ‘glitter’. To represent that, we bring you four simple looks that are glammed up with glittering accessories. You know, we’re all for accessorizing and behold the cool ways to rock them!
Denim on denim was a big favourite through 2013 and here’s a cool way to tune in some shiny accessories with your denim central look. Think chunky and think Cowboy & Indians, that’s the exact story behind this look. Combine the cool western influence with the denim heavy separates and boots. Complement this with an ornate statement metal neck-piece-chains mix and you have nailed the look.
Are you the happy girl who loves her fairy-tale happy endings, like Blair Waldorf? And for you, more is less? Then this look is perfect for you. A cute flared dress with some gold embossed floral work is the perfect setting for a whimsical look. Dress this with chunky bracelets or a kada and a pair of carved quirky earrings. Some cute ballet flats with a dainty gold beaded hairband and you’ve made that picture perfect statement.
How would one work the catwoman look without looking like she is off to a costume party? Well here’s the trick, think cat burglar in a black tank and well fitted skinny jeans in pitch black. Dress it up with a coloured contemporary assortment of chains and neck pieces. Remember the base of the look is dark to let your statement accessories shine, but it’s easy to go overboard, so maintain a balance on how you put the pieces together.
And in the light of the New Year, we also put together an all-white look. Try on a pretty lace top like the layered one in the picture above; throw on a white blazer with a pair of white shorts and move to the next stage. Here you add sparkle to your white on white look with a clean juxtaposition of textures. This is one of the coolest styling tricks that I could share with you and it’s so simple. And it sets a perfect base to display your silver bangles and neck-pieces. You could further choose to the break the all-white visual with a pair of printed or textured peep toe heels in grey.
