Season 7 of Bigg Boss may not have started off on the juiciest of notes, but thanks to a few of the contestants, it became controversy central after some time. As this season comes to a close, we can’t help but take a look at some of the most dramatic moments that happened over all those weeks that everyone was cooped up under one roof. Make sure you write in to tell us who you think will walk away the winner, but in the meantime, we present to you – the 7 biggest scandals of Bigg Boss 7!
1. Kushal Tandon and Gauahar Khan
It’s not uncommon for Bigg Boss contestants to “pair up” shortly after the show starts – either out of a genuine attraction towards each other (and shared loneliness), or the knowledge that their relationship will keep viewers interested enough so that they aren’t eliminated. One such couple this season was Kushal Tandon and Gauahar Khan, whose growing friendship provided a lot for people to speak about. During the show, the two even declared that they are in love with each other!
2. Armaan Kohli and Tanishaa Mukerji
The other two lovebirds this season were Armaan Kohli and Tanishaa Mukerji. Although they have not explicitly confirmed their relationship, there has been enough fodder for speculation. There were even rumours earlier that they were caught in bed together, although the channel denied this. Most recently, after his eviction, Armaan sent Tanishaa a bouquet of flowers and a special Christmas cake, which she seemed to be very happy about. Whether their relationship – and Kushal and Gauahar’s – continues after the season ends is something we’ll have to wait and see.
3. The Mukerjis and Devgns
Before Bigg Boss even started, reports were doing the rounds that Kajol, her husband Ajay Devgn, and her mum Tanuja were not very pleased that Tanishaa had chosen to enter the house. Even while she was in the house, there was a constant stream of rumours that Ajay was putting pressure on the show’s producers to evict Tanishaa, as her growing friendship with Armaan on the show was troubling them. So far, though, Tanishaa made it through – Armaan, on the other hand, was evicted.
4. Armaan’s arrest
Once she was evicted, contestant Sofia Hayat filed an FIR against Armaan for physical abuse. The police took her seriously, and after reviewing raw footage from the house, arrested Armaan. He was taken into the custody by the Lonavala police, but was later released on bail and re-entered the house. This was short-lived, though, as he was evicted soon after.
5. Salman and Kushal’s fight
Earlier on, Kushal was dismissed from the show by Bigg Boss, after he tried to physically harm Andy. At that time, Gauahar supported him and created quite the stir until she was allowed to walk out of the house with him. She returned soon, though, apparently after she was assured that he would make it back in as well. Well, he did re-enter, much to Salman’s displeasure. The actor made it known that he didn’t appreciate Kushal giving statements to the media while he was out of the house. Kushal clarified that he made no statements, but Salman shot him down saying that everyone has PR working for them. It looks like all is well between them now, though, as Kushal attended Salman’s birthday party held recently.
6. #UnfairSalman #SalmanIsFair
During the course of the show, many people took to Twitter to trend #UnfairSalman as a way to express their frustration over what they perceived as Salman’s bias. They believed that Salman constantly took Armaan and Tanishaa’s side, while picking on Gauahar and Kushal. To retaliate, Salman’s fans decided to trend #SalmanIsFair instead.
7. Those crazy tasks
The contestants were made to do some ridiculous and disgusting things while inside the house. Ratan Rajput was made to sit in cow dung for over an hour. Apurva Agnihotri got a mohawk (much to the chagrin of his wife, Shilpa). Contestants had to sit inside a box while others tried to instigate them to get out – Kushal put shaving foam and dirty water into Tanishaa’s box, until she got angry and exited. Kushal also had to drink from the dog (Heaven’s) bowl.
So… until next year, Bigg Boss?
