Starting off with a wailing sound, Kangana Ranaut‘s face appears a few seconds later in the trailer of her new film, Queen. She plays the character of a girl called Rani, a typical desi girl, shy, nervous and excited about her wedding, all at the same time. Lovingly called Queen, in a weird twist, Rani ends up going on her honeymoon all by herself, changing her forever.
The film has been directed by Vikas Bahl and features Kangana Ranaut, Raj Kumar and Lisa Haydon.
What’s interesting though is that Kangana has penned some of the dialogues herself. Kangana identified with the small town girl in the film, “I have to talk like a real person and I have to be candid because I play the part of a shy, sheltered and submissive girl, who is very protected by her family”. Director Vikas Bahl was very happy with this development, “I like it when characters find their own language in the film. That’s why, as Kangana got more into the character, I wanted her to have lines that came naturally to her”. Rudrarup Dutta, Head of Marketing and Creative, Viacom 18 Motion Pictures adds, “When Kangana heard the script, she just feel in love with the character of Rani, she could relate completely to her world, emotions and innocence. Kangana’s inputs on the dialogues have really enhanced the impact of the story and made Rani’s personality come alive“.
Hasn’t Kangana really upped her game? I quite enjoyed the trailer. What did you think of it? Are you looking forward to Queen?
