Lately, fashion has been all about the Big Fat Indian Wedding; most senior designers decided only to show at India Bridal Week or Delhi Couture Week. It seems at the heart of Indian fashion is the wedding, as this is were the money is. Rohit Bal has always been about Modern Indian Elegance, his collection at India Bridal Week was the bride who wanted to make an understated yet powerful statement. So, when he announced the launch of Rohit Bal Luxury Weddings, everyone knew they were in for an evening of style. And that it was at the gardens of the ITC Maurya Sheraton. It had all of Rohit Bal’s trademarks. A use of beautiful beiges, lovely lotuses and of course, chic Kashmiri crafts ensured there was a sense of understated opulence. If you want sophistication for your wedding, than Rohit Bal is your man.
Now brides can not only wear a beautiful Bal but also have this master of elegance direct their magical day. And, of course, Guddha, as Rohit Bal is fondly called, had the full support of Delhi’s most chic. The Fashion Design Council of India’s President, Sunil Sethi, fashionista Tanisha Mohan and stylist Gautam Kalra were among those celebrating Bal’s new venture. All commented on how this was the perfect marriage of fantasy with finesse. Not the Big Fat Indian Wedding at all!
