Rinaa Shah started playing polo 2 years ago and has had a very interesting journey starting training from Argentina to England to Santa Barbara. Check out her guest blog on her awesome Equestrianism!
PS. I went to a polo match once and was fascinated! Plus I got to yell my all time favorite Zubeida dialogue, “Buck up Victor!” *LOL* I wonder if Rinaa ever just feels like shouting “Chal Dhanno!” for kicks 🙂 #JustSaying #BollywoodStyle Love, MM xoxo
1. I have been training everyday and ride almost every day for the past 2 years. (This is one dream I thought that would never be fulfilled as it’s the toughest thing I have ever taken up!)
2. I’ve always been an adventure junkie – trained for formula car driving, ski diving, white water rafting, etc… but polo has been the hardest sport I have ever tried and love every minute of it!
3. Hoping to play all around the world in 2014 and field my own team – Rinaldi Polo everywhere. Rina-ldi, get it? 🙂
4. While playing polo I also got inspired and started an equestrian line which I showcased at Lakmé Fashion Week called Rinaldi Polo called Rinaldi Polo and do all kinds of equestrian fashion for men and women like cufflinks, scarves, handbags belts and riding gear! (We wonder if she would approve of what other celebrities chose to wear to a polo match!)
5. I’m proud to be one of the only women polo players from India.
6. I’ve been training the last few months under the famous 4 goal player from Jaipur –Vishal Singh
7. I played two tournaments in Jodhpur from December 1st to 8th and won both! One was the Jodhpur Cup and the other cup was the Umaid Bhavan Cup.
8. One of the teams also had the son of Diya Kumari Yuvraj Shri Padmanabh Singh
9. his highness Maharaja Gajsingh gave out the trophies.
