When Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ranbir Kapoor came together for the first time on screen to share coffee (koffee) with Karan Johar, they spoke about a lot of things. However, it almost felt like the show turned into “Koffee With Katrina,” because Katrina Kaif really did dominate a majority of the conversation, despite the fact that she wasn’t even there.
It turns out, though, that Kat wasn’t surprised when the episode aired, because she was already informed in advance that she was a major topic of conversation – not just by Ranbir, but also by Kareena, who took it upon herself to call the actress and let her know what she said on the show. After all, Bebo called Katrina her sister-in-law and even made grand plans on-air for Ranbir and Katrina’s wedding, so we’re guessing she thought it prudent to give Kat a heads-up. Industrywalla says: Kareena Kapoor might have put her foot in the mouth when she openly called Katrina Kaif her “sister in law” on the last episode of Koffee With Karan. Buzz is that a night before the shoot of the episode, Karan had got both Kareena and Katrina under one roof when he played the host for an impromptu dinner. The dinner was organised so that Ranbir and Kareena break the ice and give some dhamaka promo moments on his show. However, Kat wasn’t quite comfortable when KJo told her that RK should make his chat show the first public forum where he would officially declare his love for his girlfriend. The actress said it was too soon for either of them to officially declare love.
After the show was shot, Miss Kaif was shocked that Bebo went on national TV calling her “sister in law.” It seems that Kareena called up Kat and discussed details of what she spoke on the show as soon as the episode was shot, because she didn’t want Kat to find it out when the show haid aired. Hence, Kareena made the call herself!
When asked about the statements in an interview, Katrina simply laughed it off and said that whatever comments are made on Koffee With Karan are usually in jest, so should not be taken seriously. As for the comments about Kareena dancing to Sheila Ki Jawaani and Chikni Chameli, Katrina only said, “Whenever and whoever I get married to, I’d love to have Kareena dance at my wedding. She is a wonderful dancer… anyone from the industry would be welcome to shake a leg.”
Diplomatic as ever, although we’re convinced that Kareena’s comment – while intending to be fun – wasn’t really the “joke” Katrina wants us to believe it is.
