For the past two years, it’s been a matter of pride for India that actress Aashka Goradia has represented our country by being a jury member for the International Emmy Awards.
Currently acting in the television serial, Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap, the star speaks exclusively to Team MissMalini from the USA. She talks about her experience of walking the famous red carpet.
Team MissMalini: Even though you were on the jury last year, you didn’t attend the awards. Why didn’t you go for them?
Aashka Goradia: I was on Bigg Boss last year and hence, had to skip the awards ceremony. But this year, fortunately, I had a clear schedule.
Team MM: What is it like being on an international jury of such stature?
AG: I can honestly say that it is a great opportunity to be on the jury for the 41st International Emmy Awards. It is a global platform, which I get to share with incredibly talented people from the television industry.
Team MM: The outfit you wore on the red carpet was a huge topic of discussion in the media, right from the day you left. Were you nervous about the reaction from the media?
AG: Actually, designers Riddhi and Siddhi Mapxencar wanted me to look like a queen and I actually did feel like one in the saree-gown they created especially for this event.
The sisters did a phenomenal job on the outfit and the press back here in NYC said that it was one of the best outfits of the evening. The press here are more welcoming and ready to embrace anything that is different.
