Did you know that Suchitra Krishnamoorthi once texted Ram Gopal Varma saying that she wants to marry him? Neither did I! But now she’s written a tell all (not-so-fictional) account of her life and times after becoming the ex Mrs Shekar Kapur! The book is OTT, funny and filled with zany self-deprecating humor, while told through her various (and often hilarious) escapades as a Bollytown starlet. And to be perfectly honest – I’m both surprised and impressed because the lady’s got balls.
Last night at Le Mangii in Juhu she launched her book Drama Queen surrounded by starlet friends and fans including Nagesh Kuknoor, Nisha JamVwal, Ken Ghosh, Satish Kaushik, Ramesh & Kiran Sippy, Reshma & Sulaiman Merchant, Suchitra Pillai, Arif Zakaria, Queenie Singh, Vikram Chatwal, Harsh Goenka, Dilip & Shalini Piramal, Krishika & Sunil Lulla, Brinda Miler, Sunil and Tanuja Padwal, Amish Tripathi, Rohit & Manasi Roy, Farokh Dhondy, Taran Adarsh, Asif Merchant, Sujata Kumar, Pria Kataria Puri, Amy Billimoria, Sheeba Akashdeep and Bina Aziz. Even her daughter with Shekhar Kapur – Kaveri Kapur was preset!

So I asked Suchitra what the three most shocking revelations in the book are – according to her and here’s what she said!
1. “The shock of being offered obscene amounts of money by a pimp on behalf of a wealthy NRI (who INSISTED he wanted good girl like me only and nobody else!) And being told that because of the high status of being Shekhar Kapur’s wife, I could negotiate for a much higher price if I liked. This is when the story of my divorce was dominating the headlines in 2006 and 2007.”
2. “The shock of being hit on by my guy pals who had never dared even look me straight in the eye when I was married. I was shocked at how many of them turned out to be Frankensteins-in-waiting!”
3. “Who is Pankaj Ganatra? There are people actually Googling the facts to try and figure out who he is hahaha.”
