For the song Naina from Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan had to head to Wai for the shooting. Although the journey should take only about a few hours, the team actually ended up having to travel a total of 12 hours to get there due to a landslide that happened at that time. The two shot on only about an hour of sleep, and then had to travel an extra 3 hours within Wai to reach another location, where they were scheduled to one antara of the song. Needless to say, Kareena and Imran weren’t too happy!
Punit Malhotra says:
“When the two reached the location, Imran joked, ‘Punit, run for your life. Kareena is coming with an axe to kill you!’ Kareena had a lot of black coffee and I had to bribe Imran with good Parsi food.”
We’re told, though, that both Kareena and Imran were enthusiastic and professional about the shoot despite the setback, and things went smoothly from there. Punit adds:
“I had to make them go across a huge rock and stand on the edge of a cliff for a shot. The good thing is that the shoot went off very well. The weather was also lovely as it was the monsoon season.”
When we asked Imran, he told us that the landslide was “legitimately scary” as they were “trapped inside a tunnel for about an hour and a half.” Dang!
