Soha Ali Khan

Soha Ali Khan is among Bollywood’s more popular actresses who is as affable and approachable as she is talented. Ever ready with a quick smile and lightning sharp sense of humour, Soha turns a year older today.

We spoke to her about birthday plans and birthday presents and here’s what she revealed exclusively to Team MissMalini:

Team MM: How are you celebrating your birthday this year?

Soha: I’m in Delhi this year for my birthday, which is wonderful because my mother and my sister are with me. And so is Kunal (Kemmu) because we are both working in Gurgaon this evening. We can have a nice dinner post that.

Last night, Kunal took me and my family out for a beautiful dinner at my favourite hotel – The Imperial – where we brought in my birthday.

Team MM: What has been your most memorable birthday celebration ever?

Soha: It was probably my 21st birthday where I spent the night watching Ek Ladka Ek Ladki with my best friend Priyanka! Oh did you mean memorable in a good way??!

Team MM: What birthday gift do you treasure most which your father has given you?

Soha: You mean apart from the gift of life, of course! He wasn’t one to give a lot of presents or even to remember or celebrate birthdays (since he lost his father on his 11th birthday). But he did give me a huge dictionary once which I really do treasure and he wrote in it: “The second most important book.” He also paid for me to travel around Europe with a back pack for a month after I graduated from college.

Team MM: If you could celebrate your birthday with one famous person (whom you have never met), who would it be and why?

Soha: I’m not sure I would want to spend it with a stranger but having said that, it would be pretty cool to have a drink with William Shakespeare. I think he had a mischievous sense of humour and I would want to know his take on Hindi cinema.

Team MM: If you could give another person a gift on your birthday, who would you give it to and what would it be?

Soha: I would give my mother a present because she’s the one who went through all the trouble really, on my birthday, so she’s earned it! It would be whatever it is she’s been eyeing lately – be it a gold clutch or figure flattering gym wear!

Here’s wishing Soha the most fabulous birthday ever from Team MissMalini 🙂
