Talk about grabbing eyeballs. Designer Rick Owens decided to do something unconventional for his Spring/Summer 2014 runway collection – he got rid of the typical size zero models and replaced them with dancers. However, these weren’t any regular dancers; they were full figured, brown girls. The dance troupe performed a dance routine called stepping. The dancers who were still studying in college, were outfitted in Owen’s Spring/Summer line that was characterized with 4 main colours – white, black, grey and beige. You have to applaud Owen for taking such a step and throwing light on the fact that fashion is not just for skinny women but women of all shapes and sizes. Bravo!
