Pamela Chopra, the wife of the late Yash Chopra, has decided that she will celebrate the legend’s birthday in a different way each year. She has already spoken to everyone over at Yash Raj Films about her wish to have a special activity every year, and they are on board with it. The 27th of this month will mark the launch of her first initiative, and although things are being kept under wraps for now, we hear that one of the activities will be the launch of a line of saris that are inspired by Yash Chopra’s films.
Says a source, “It’s entirely Pamelaji’s idea. She was keen that Yashji’s birthday becomes an important day for everyone at the production house. So as far as we know, every year, there will be some kind of activity on his birthday — it could be a charity event, a film announcement or another special event — in his memory.”
A big event is being planned for this year, the source adds: “Details are a bit unclear right now, but things will be finalised in a couple of days. Her sons, Aditya and Uday, are privy to all the details and execution plans. But like all other initiatives by the production house, not many people are aware of the exact nitty-gritty.”
On her part, Pam Chopra has confirmed the news: “Yes, we are looking to celebrate every birthday of Yash in a meaningful manner. This year, we are in the process of putting together something really big.”
This sounds like such a great idea, and we can’t wait to hear what Pam aunty (as she is fondly known) and the rest of the Chopra family come up with.
