Psst! Before you go drooling over all the vintage rocker chic gems in Kresha’s closet I have excellent news! Stay tuned to win 2500rs gift vouchers courtesy Koëcsh next week on Twitter via yours truly 🙂 xoxo
For the last 7 years I’ve trotted around the globe studying style in the most exciting fashion capitals of the world; London, New York, Paris and Los Angeles. Being OTT and weird comes naturally to me, to say the least, and that trickles down to the way I dress! So in all honesty, seeing people giving me the WTF look when I’m out at dinner in a leather harness and shadow stud’s doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. What does surprise me however, is the lack of self-expression in people’s personal style in India as compared to street-style around the globe.
I created Koëcsh to break this simple, ‘in-trend’, monotony that we are so used to today. Koëcsh is a portal for all things cool, vintage, fun, crazy, weird and edgy! We believe that one should dress not to impress but to express!
Here are some of my Koëcsh can’t-live-withouts!
1.Koëcsh Signature Dress
We’ve all seen a million versions of the LBD, so when we decided to create ours, we knew it had to be something super embellished and chic, while being wearable and affordable. When we saw how awesome it turned out, we just had to make it the Koëcsh signature dress! Created with a boned bodice, and tons of crisscrossed gold metal chains, this piece enhances all the necessary curves and hides the unnecessary ones.
2.Koëcsh Signature Collar
An all time fav – the unconventional Koëcsh Signature Collar. Meant to be worn as an edgier alternate to the necklace, this piece adds some major Gaga-esque qualities to any outfit. For a casual look, I pair it with a black tank and jeans. On a night out, a bodycon dress does the trick and when I really want to take it up a notch, it’s my substitute to traditional Indian jewellery on a black sari.
3.Vintage Links Arm Candy
Nothing says ‘arm candy’ better than stacked up vintage link bracelets and cuffs. The feeling and look and story behind a rare Monet link bracelet is something only a obsessive vintage lover will understand. Stomach in knots and fluttering butterflies, these heavy metal bracelets are pieces worth investing in as they grow cooler with age and never go out of style!
4.Pyramid Stud iPhone Cover
Who needs a fancy box clutch when you have an iPhone? It goes without saying that the iPhone is one of the coolest BFF’s today (although some of the BB loyalist will beg to differ)! Blinged-out phone covers are the best way to play dress up with your BFF. Protecting my phone from times when it could almost have become an X, it also adds serious glam to any outfit!
5.Chaining Beauty Bustier
The Koëcsh must have bustier is a classic black cropped piece with a surprise element of metal chains and diamantes. It can be dressed down with a pair of shorts or a maxi skirt. To pump up the volume, a bodycon skirt or some high waisted skinnies does the trick! For the experimental dresser wear it over a translucent blouse to change up the silhouette.
6.Chain Reaction Vest
Vests are one of my favorite layering pieces and unfortunately the right kind are super hard to find. This vest has a combination of the fit of the boyfriend jacket, and the broad shoulders from Dior’s famous ‘New Look’ silhouette. The awesome part is that it creates the illusion of a narrow waist without hugging the body and adds some major edge with the metal and diamanté chains.
7.Reflection’s Collar
Fashion body armor is something we only see on runways or in high-fashion editorials. If lucky enough, we might just cross paths with one in a cutting-edge boutique along with an extensive price tag. With the Koëcsh reflections collar we decided to bring it to the streets and take it up a notch by embellishing with broken mirrors. This super lightweight collar harness is something that can be worn over a fun dress, jeans and an A-shirt or an elegant white maxi.
8.Nocturnal Peplum Top
The peplum was actually born in the mid-19th century as an over garment to a dress, skirt, blouse or jacket. The purpose was to accentuate the hips, therefore highlighting the narrow waist. Sadly, we have all come across those that do quite the opposite. The Nocturnal top bodice ends at the narrowest part of the waistline, where the exaggerated peplum layers begin. It creates a silhouette that flatters all body-types. For a dinner where you want to indulge a little extra, it helps keep your secret!
9.Pierced Arrow Rings
Rings are the easiest way for some to experiment with their personal style without making obvious changes. Someone might not be as willing to walk out in Lita Skull’s or a biker jacket but will be willing to add some edge to a simple LBD with a spiked ring. I love to tighten these rings and wear them at the tip on my fingers to give an illusion of claws!
10.Jeffery Campbell – Shadow STD
One look at these shoes and there began my love affair with Jeffery Campbell. These are the reason that we couldn’t live without having exclusive rights in India for JC on Koëcsh! Super comfortable to walk in (despite how intimidating they look), these diva shoes take any outfit to a whole other level. Meant only for the daring and fashion-forward…after all kick-ass girls need kick-ass shoes!
