So while Raveena Tandon (and my colleague Rashmi Daryanani) liken Shahid Kapoor‘s look to Govinda‘s signature style in the song, Tu Mere Agal Bagal Hai, Ileana D’Cruz has been given the typical Marathi mulgi make-over.
Styled by designers Riddhi & Siddhi Mapxencar, the twin sisters tell us, “When we were given the brief about this song from Phata Poster Nikhla Hero, Ileana was to be depicted as a Marathi mulgi in the traditional nine-yards kashti saree. But since it was a dance sequence, we had to pre-stitch the drape and give it the feel of the real draped kashti saree.”
Adds the designer duo, “The colour of ensemble had to be bright and vibrant keeping in mind the mood of song. Also there were rigorous dance movements which had to be performed by Ileana. hence, a pre-stitched kashti saree was the perfect choice.”
