There’s something about Juhi Chawla that mesmerizes you the moment you see her. Maybe it’s her infectious smile, or maybe it’s her inherent grace. Whatever it is, we love it!
Juhi was chosen by the talented designer, Shruti Sancheti, to walk the ramp for her at Lakme Fashion Week, and she was fabulous twirling & swirling on the catwalk in a lovely Nagpur hand woven ghagra.
Team MissMalini: Tell us about your stunning outfit which Juhi is wearing?
Shruti Sancheti: Juhi Chawla was my show-stopper for Lakme Fashion Week. She is wearing an outfit which is an amalgamation of all the various weaves of Maharashtra and she’s also wearing paithani, but in the form of surface ornamentation on the blouse. The ghagra is made from woven Nagpuri check material and is detailed with peacock shaped nathni tassels.
Juhi is also bedecked with Maharashtrian jewelry called Saaj (the name of Shruti’s collection) and I chose her to walk for me because she is the epitome of Saaj, which means spice.
Team MM: What is your personal style on an everyday basis?
Juhi Chawla: Well, on an everyday basis I can’t wear gorgeous clothes like these but I would wear these outfits for festive occasions because they are such lovely clothes.
However, because we are living in a warm, humid weather in Mumbai, I can’t go beyond cotton t’shirts and loose trousers and other comfortable clothes because it’s just too warm to get dressed up.
Team MM: What do you do to maintain your looks?
Juhi Chawla: I don’t do much. But I think one shouldn’t make too much of a fuss over one’s self.
