We attended a great make-up masterclass by internationally acclaimed make-up artist Natasha Nischol at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive this weekend. The gorgeous Sarah Jane Dias was Natasha’a model for the session.
Based on the international beauty trends for Autumn/Winter 2013, Natasha created a Red by Night look inspired by 1940’s glamour. Most of the products she used were from the Lakmé Absolute makeup range. Here’s a complete breakdown of her look, and all the products used to create it.
Natasha told us that the current global make-up trends include clean matte complexion, statement metallic eyes, futuristic eyeliner, petal/berry stained lips, invisible eyeliner, statement brows, 40’s femininity, 90’s inspired grunge, rock & roll, and a statement red lips.
We took note of some tips & tricks that you can use for your next night out!
1. The more you blend in your shades, the longer it stays.
2. Use a kohl pencil that can be smudged easily to create a smoky eye. Use your fingers to apply makeup for a good and even smudge.
3. Baked eye-shadows can be used wet and dry, and can simply be doubled up for eyeliner using a thin brush.
4. To make your eyes look bigger use a light colour (like gold dust), on your inner corners. A Lakmé Kajal pencil is also an excellent way to create black smoky eyes, clubbed in with a tinted foundation.
5. Use baked blush with lip gloss to get an excellent lip stain.
