Designer Debarun Mukherjee of Kolkata will explore traditional fabrics, embroideries, weaves and textures in his creations for the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week.
The color palette he chose comprises of beige, ivory, red and nude tones in tussar silk, cotton kora, viscose silk, velvet and matka silks. We’ll see a vibrant collection of sarees, lehengas, layered dresses and churidar suits.
For the men, Debarun has chosen short jackets teamed with kurtas, bandhgalas, long flared coats and sherwani inspired suits that have a vintage feel.
The collection draws inspiration from motifs which are geometric, as well as ornamental. Detailing will be seen in the form of block prints, over-dying, hand embroidery and applique.
Look out for his show at 3pm on 23rd August, 2013.
