Director Kabir Khan of Ek Tha Tiger fame was in conversation with writer Indu Mirani in Mumbai recently, where he spoke about his experiences as an outsider making it in Bollywood and his years as a documentary filmmaker before directing Kabul Express.
Kabir opened up about why it is important to do one film where numbers are crucial but to also follow it up with a film in tune with your sensibilities as a director. He also expressed his interest in the politics of a film, the gender politics and other relevant subjects which are rarely spoken about in a frenzied bid for box-office numbers.
The event – called The Boss Dialogues – is part of a series of conversations with iconic directors and has been co-founded by Indu Mirani and Namrata Bhawnani.
