The Mumbai court has rejected Salman Khan‘s plea for the 2002 hit-and-run case and he will be tried for “culpable homicide not amounting to murder” under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code. He has been given a month to appear before the court.
The Land Cruiser that was allegedly driven by Salman Khan had killed one and injured four others sleeping on a pavement on September 28, 2002. Earlier this year he cancelled his birthday party to attend the court hearing.
This is a non-bailable offence and we have heard that if he is convicted, Salman could face a 10-year jail term.
