On Friday evening in Mumbai, the fashion world will witness the birth of its new stars when the NIFT Mumbai fashion school kicks-off their annual graduation show.
The show will be choreographed by the inimitable Achla Sachdev and will feature top models like Alesia Raut, Candice Pinto, Deepti Gujral, Hemangi Parte, Binal Trivedi and Siddharth Rawal.
Take a look at some of the vibrant and futuristic designs that will be debuted on the ramp by the talented students:
Lovdeep Gulyani presented The Pilgrim Progress which was influenced by Karin Dreijer Andersson, (aka known as Fever Ray, the lead vocalist of The Knife) rooted in daydreams and unfettered imagination.
From God With Love by Sonali Sethi is about exploring and experimenting with unique and innovative computerized knitting techniques to create 3D and see-through textures.
Yashasvi Mathis has come up with a collection named Epileptic Staccato. It is a set of five looks that stand for ideas that got interrupted. The major focus lies on the play with the thicknesses of various fabrics. This also makes each look look jarring and absurd. Unexpected layering and novel cutting gives the technical elements a considered look. The idea is to bring together the elements such that it is a frenzy, almost epileptic.
