She’s a member of the 100 Crore club in Bollywood, having delivered hits like Housefull-2 but the best thing about actress Jacqueline Fernandez is that she’s equally talented at raising funds to benefit India’s under-privileged children.
At a recent charity event which was held in Mayfair in London, Jackie auctioned a breakfast with her which helped raise Four Thousand Pounds Sterling.
Pratham UK is a charity group which works towards promoting literacy across India. So far, it has benefited Five Lakh children in forty-three cities and Thirty-Three Million children in 305,000 villages through their wide range of programmes.
Says Jacqueline, “I have a friend who is part of the Pratham group. My friend knew that it’s a cause I am quite interested in and passionate about. I think education is something every child in the world has the right to. That is how my friend got me involved in the fundraiser in London. I wanted to make a contribution apart from just attending the event, so I decided to auction a breakfast which helped me raise £4000 for the noble cause.”
