It might be summer and that’s reason enough to hike our hemlines but the midi-length is having a major moment. Celebs also have caught this bug with the likes of Jessica Alba, Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora Khan wearing them around town.
So what exactly is midi length? Well ideally it’s supposed to hit right below the knee or mid-calf.
The trend became popular in the mid ’50s where women were outfitted in floral flared skirts and dresses. This demure hemline has been appearing on the runways for a while now and it seems it’s here to stay. However, its shed the dowdy, prim avataar. Thanks to designers like Victoria Beckham and Diane Von Furstenberg.
I’ve listed how exactly you can wear this trend:
If You’re Athletic:
Pick a form-fitting dress. It will accentuate your curves and make you look taller. Always pair with heels.
If You’re Pear Shaped:
If you’re blessed with hips, pick an asymmetrical hemline. It will take the focus off from that area. Take a leaf from Ms Singh’s style by pairing them with espadrilles.
