“I’m glad I completed 25 years of my career this year when cinema completed 100 years. I feel bad thinking I couldn’t create something related to 100 years of Hindi cinema. I wish I had more time to conceive something related to it. And I wish Salman could’ve been a part of Bombay Talkies. I’m glad to be associated with Bombay Talkies film in whatever capacity I could be.”
OMG, I thought exactly the SAME thing when I went to watch the movie earlier this week! What a pity Salman Khan didn’t make his cameo in the finale song.
As you might have guessed, Salman Khan reportedly refused to share screen space with Shah Rukh Khan. The title song has a wide variety of singers who have come together for the actors with whom they share musical history. One such singer is SP Balasubramaniam, who was Salman’s voice in Maine Pyaar Kiya, Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. If you watch carefully about a minute in there is a part of the song where the opening bars for Didi Tera Dewar Deewana play but instead of Salman they cut to the young actor who’s shot watching the show. Aww.
PS. Anyone know why Kajol didn’t make it either considering she’s a Dharma girl?!
Aamir Khan decided to watch Bombay Talkies last night with the directors of this film. Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar.
