Almost two weeks ago, we had told you that Farhan Akhtar will be distributing 70,000 mustaches at Eden Gardens in Kolkata at the IPL cricket match between Shah Rukh Khan’s team Kolkata Knight Riders and Preity Zinta’s Kings IX Punjab, to spread awareness about gender inequality and rape through MARD, (Men Against Rape and Discrimination).
While Preity Zinta was present at the match, Shah Rukh could not make it due to his frenetic shooting schedule. However, Farhan reveals that it was in fact, SRK’s idea to promote the MARD campaign at the match.
Apart from distributing moustaches, Farhan recited the MARD poem, penned by his father Javed Akhtar while Shaan recited it Bengali and Navjot Singh Siddhu did the same in Punjabi.
Even Adam Gilchrist and Danny Morisson sportingly wore the appendages while two youngsters showed they cared as well, by holding up placards.
And finally, you can watch the MARD poem here:
