Earlier this week, reports were doing the rounds that John Abraham had replaced Akshay Kumar as the lead in Welcome Back, the sequel to the 2007 hit Welcome. On sets of Bade Ache Lagte Hain recently, John confirmed the news and claimed that Akshay is “the happiest” for him.
According to HT, John said:
“Akshay is like my elder brother. Whatever I do, I always have a lot of discussions, especially with him. Akshay was happiest for me when I told him that I am doing ‘Welcome Back’. He said it’s a very good film and you should do it.”
He went on to say that it was an excellent script that kids will really like as well. He didn’t, however, confirm the remuneration he received for this film. Reports suggest he has been paid 15 crores, but John insists it’s “not as important” and he charges only what he believes he deserves – and then gives to charity as well, since that’s what’s important.
Do you think John makes a good fit for the Welcome sequel?
