Veteran actress Kiron Kher is known for her vast collection of one-of-a-kind sarees and it came as no surprise to see her in her elements at award winning textile designer, Gaurang’s exhibition of red carpet sarees collection.
These Mughal era sarees are inspired by vintage Kota, Chikankari, Kanjeevaram, Uppada and Banaras jamdani work and took over six months to weave each saree.
Says Kiron Kher in a media statement, “I love Gaurang’s sarees and can’t wait to grab them the moment they come to his store in Mumbai. I have worn his sarees on many a red carpet and even on realty shows like India’s Got Talent.”
Says Gaurang, “My inspiration this summer comes from the beautiful Taj Mahal floral inlaid patterns on the marble floor. One among them was the sari worn by my showstopper – Chitrangda Singh – at Lakme Fashion Week , which was a black kota sari with pure gold zari.”
