Dekh Indian Circus, a film presented by Imitiaz Ali, has been the talk of the film industry of late. The reason? It has won four National Awards for Best Children’s Film, Best Child Actor (Virendra Pratap), Special Jury Award (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and Special Mention (Tannishtha Chatterjee) categories.
Dekh Indian Circus, shot in Jaisalmer and starring Nawazuddin Siddique, is an entertaining metaphor for rural India’s struggle to access the supposed economic miracle of the nation.
Says Imtiaz Ali in a press note,“I never thought I would present a film. I always believed I could only direct movies and that’s what I would continue to do. But when I watched DIC, I knew that this film deserved to reach every viewer in this country. I will do my best to spread the word.”
