I discovered quite a few useful tips when it comes to eye applying makeup thanks to Marvie Beck. Here’s a video tutorial and the highlights of my lesson just for you 🙂
Things to remember…
1. Avoid white, silver, grey or light pink eye shadow that may make you look ghostly! (Did you know these shades are used heavily in prosthetic makeup?!) Also avoid reds or copper reds which could make you look sick.
2. To make your eyeshadow last longer first use a concealer. To get an even deeper color out of your shadow, use a base like my Urban Decay eye shadow primer.
3. Use a light color in your socket and using a corner brush add a darker shade to define the shape of your eye. (Marvie recommends the Chanel Makeup Les 4 Ombres.)
4. When using wet products use a fibre brush, since they carry products well. Marvie thinks gel eye liner is the ultimate break through product because it is not runny, gives you a smooth finish and glides on easily!
5. Always start with the eye that is harder to do! To check if your make up is even hold a mirror up close to your face, tilt your head back and check the ends.
6. To go stronger – use a liquid liner over the gel liner.
7. Use a black kajal in your waterline and a dark brown one below your lower eyelid. This will make you appear less harsh in pictures because brown tends to photograph better!
8. Get an eye lash curler and curl your lashes for barbie doll eyes!
Psst! This cheap and cheerful vega eyelash curler is available for 80rs on Flipkart.
9. You can apply up to 5 coats of mascara but do it before it dries so your mascara doesn’t get clumpy.
10. If you get a dot of mascara on your face wait for it to dry then use a wet cotton bud to flick it off! Voila, your eyes are now bat-your-lashes ready 🙂 xoxo
