Trust y’all enjoyed our coverage of the Summer/Resort’13 season of Lakmé Fashion Week? One show which stood out – and we didn’t blog about yet because of my laziness of mammoth proportions! – is the Vikram Phadnis one. The show, presented by Ronnie Screwvala’s Swades Foundation, told the glorious story of India’s great craftsmen and traditions. A host of Bollywood and TV folks modelled the collection along with villagers of Raigad, who happen to be Phadnis’s craftsmen. We’ve got postcards and footages from the night – come, have a look 🙂

Spot anyone familiar in there?

The 70-piece collection, inspired by the Sun and its glory, was heavy on hot hues like red, maroon, orange and mustard, with the odd beige, cream and antique gold here and there. The womenswear comprised of saris, lehengas and anarkalis, all shorn of Phadnis’s
tacky
customary bling. Dainty bags and clutches and jewellery from Amrapali’s ‘Tribe’ collection, provided the finishing touches to the looks.

For menswear, it was all sherwanis, achkans, kurtas, nehru jackets – and some extremely elaborate dupattas (!), which some had a tricky time managing.

The Kai Po Che! looked so dashing, even their director, Abhishek Kapoor. Ooooh, here comes my desi girl crush, Pragya Yadav! Her and Abhishek make such a gorgeous couple, non?

This little jig these two did was so cute!

Catch all the ramp action in the clip below! Ayushmann Khurrana was totes adorbs, and Rahul Bose compassion personified. While Poonam Sinha… the less said, the better.

Whose outfit you liked best? Me, I liked the menswear way better than the womenswear, I’m afraid.
