Taste of Mumbai 2013 was a ‘foodies’ paradise. Not only were some of Mumbai’s best restaurants present, but top restaurants from Delhi, Bangalore, and even New York City, participated!
Being an avid cook, it was exciting to see renowned chefs in the Fisher & Paykel Taste Theater sharing some of their favorite recipes. One of my favorite chefs, Jehangir Mehta, came all the way from New York to represent his restaurant, Graffiti. He also hosted a private cooking session with kids, thus helping to encourage future foodies in the making. 🙂 Other notable international chefs included Chris Erasmus, Ivan Musoni, Nadia Lim, Vivek Singh and 18 other top Indian Chefs.
Now, on to the food! This festival allowed us to sample different restaurants around the city all in one place… a great way to avoid Mumbai traffic! 😉 Here are some pictures of the different dishes we tried from Graffiti, Koh, Kofuku, Fire, China House, and Prego. Unfortunately, we were too full to sample all the other great restaurants.
We were a bit worried about the heat, but the mai-tai’s from Trader Vic’s Mai-Tai Lounge, and beers from the Carlsberg Bar, kept us refreshed. There was also a great shaded seating area with a live band for us to relax and cool off. It was a nice change from the usual weekend! There’s nothing like spending time with family, sampling delicious food and drinks, while listening to great music.
