Murder-3 actress, Aditi Rao Hydari, made her ramp debut at Lakme Fashion Week, where she was the celebrity showstopper for designer Payal Singhal.
Known for dressing in high-street labels and western silhouettes, Aditi looked radically different in a red embroidered lehenga choli. In an exclusive tete-a-tete, we asked her what it was like to sport a style that she usually doesn’t wear.

Aditi tells us, “Actually, If I could wear these kind of clothes everyday, I would. And if Payal made them for me in mulmul, I would wear them. In fact, I have clothes like this in my wardrobe. I have shararas in mul with kurtis and I used to wear them in Delhi. But after coming to Bombay, I changed my style of dressing because it’s a very different way of dressing here. I feel we should celebrate what is beautiful to us, to our country, to our heritage – and reclaim it. We have beautiful textiles, we have so many different kinds of crafts and we should explore those!”
