Twin sisters Riddhi & Siddhi Mapxencar displayed a collection on Lakme Fashion Week which was inspired by a visit to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s ashram in Bangalore.

Here are five things in their collection that stood out for me:

Lots of bracelets: If you have long and slim hands, this is the ideal way to accessorize them by putting on a few chunky cuffs or bracelets.

Origami: The traditional and classic Japanese art-form of origami gives their outfits a three-dimensional effect. It adds a certain grace to the fall of the fabric as well.

Summery silhouettes: What defines summer more than a classic halter-neck dress? Enough said!

Shlokas on borders: I love the trend of using shlokas, calligraphy and words of wisdom to enhance an outfit. As I had said earlier, it becomes an interesting conversation piece when worn to a party.

Turbans: What a lovely way to hide your mane on a bad-hair-day. Just plonk a turban on your head, accessorize it with some fine trinkets and voila, you’re ready to party 🙂
