While Lakmé Fashion Week just went into full swing yesterday, it was Tarun Tahiliani‘s opening show that got the ball rolling. At the off-site venue at Tote, the couture veteran showcased a short but sensible collection. Filled with earthy tones in separates that graduated into accents of peaches, mango yellows and more, and the front front seemed pretty please with Mr. Tahiliani, yet again.
“The India Modern separates dominating this collection take a fresh look at the needs of the contemporary Indian woman for comfort and luxury. The collection is replete with renewed youthful simplicity so as to help her transition from day wear to loungewear effortlessly” – Tarun Tahiliani
In this collection, what stood out was the menswear. The subtle and non-fussy take on lounge wear came through perfectly. Looks modeled by Freddy Daruwala, seemed to be a favourite in the crowd. And MissMalini loved the turban styling on some of the girls. For the first show at Lakmé Fashion week summer/resort 2013, Tarun Tahiliani’s fluid, light weight skirts and dhoti pants got the fashion frenzy on to a good start.
