A lot has been said these past few months about Shah Rukh Khan‘s alleged affair, and while most reports seem to focus on are-they-or-are-they-not?, one important factor in the whole triangle has been massively overlooked: Gauri Khan and what must be going through her head. So we decided to dig a little deeper and came away with a first-hand account of how the inimitable Mrs Khan has apparently gone from miserable to marvellous without ever really falling apart.
Our spy says that in the beginning, Gauri saw this as a merely professional relationship. Even though SRK-PC spent a lot of time together on set, award functions and parties, Gauri never batted an eyelid – until her BFFs (like Sussanne Roshan, Mehr Jessia & Kajal Anand) began pointing fingers at the growing bond. Infact, Gauri’s BFFs have all rallied and that’s the reason SRK and “the girly gang” don’t get along very well anymore.
Still, though, Gauri was inclined to ignore the rumours. But things took a turn for the worse once PC started becoming a regular at all the Mannat parties (even when Gauri was handling the guest list and didn’t want to invite her.) At this point, Gauri began giving Shah Rukh the silent treatment, and would have her helpers send across messages to him whenever necessary. In public though, she kept up the facade and attended events on his arm, mostly out of concern for their children, Aryan and Suhana.
The nail in the coffin however came during Karan Johar‘s birthday bash, when Gauri saw SRK escorting PC across the room, and kept stopping with her to speak to the other guests present. Post that day, Gauri seems to have gone all “zen” about it while SRK continues to scoff at the rumours – behaving as he says, he “normally would.”
Maybe this is Gauri’s attempt to project her strong & silent side *Cue Kelly Clarkson‘s Miss Independent*. She even made a very feisty, solo appearance at the Ambani/Steven Spielberg party earlier this month. Our spy reports that Gauri has finally made peace with what is happening and has realised that she has no control over SRK. What she is adamant about, though, is that her kids don’t suffer because of this and will do her best to keep them away from the gossip. It seems she’s also been reconnecting with her spiritual side and has been spending time listening to Buddhist chants and reading books by Louise Hay.
Hmm, what do we think? Well, whether or not the rumours are true, or Gauri’s just riding them out till people get over it, we have to say she’s handling herself like a true star (wife) with grace and dignity, at least to the public eye! Don’t you?
