To celebrate the launch of the Farah Baksh Journal (inspired by the Kashmiri heritage, and its sophisticated design sensibilities), a cocktail party & dinner was hosted by Beenu Bawa, Director of Good Earth in association with the India Design Forum.
The party saw a number of Mumbai’s well-heeled come out to view the products on display. Here are ten people we think who stood out:
1) Sona Mohapatra: She’s someone who never shies away from taking a fashion risk and loves promoting young designers. Here, Sona wears an outfit by Vaishali S. and accessorizes it with her husband (Ram Sampath) on her arm. We like!
2) Bandana Tewari: I love Bandana’s long feathered earrings, and the many bracelets & beads on her wrist. Very boho-chic!
3) Jamini Alhuwalia: She’s probably the first woman to design high fashion costume jewelry in India, and now her designs as much sought-after as the real stuff. This choker – undoubtedly her own design – offsets the bluish tinge in her hair to perfection.
4) Little Shilpa: We love her for that strip-of-lace headgear! Put it on your must-have list!
5) Mukul Deora: Those yellow shoes! Nuff said!
6) Kamal Siddhu: Kamal is always chic and well dressed. We especially love those gold shoulder-duster earrings she wears here.
7) Sabina Chopra
:
We love this pale-blue Sabyasachi ensemble simply because it’s so restrained, despite being heavily embroidered.
8) Sheena Sippy: Her use of multiple chains and coloured bangles get our vote for being among the best dressed at this party.
9) Smita Parekh: What a beautiful colour saree this is. Love the red on Rani pink… now where’s the smile?!
10) Poorna Jagannathan: This dress is from Drashta‘s Autumn/Winter 2013 line and has an embellished neckline. Fab!
Who get’s your vote for best dressed??
