Mumbai’s streets are covered with beautiful graffiti like this ‘Bandra’ artwork on Chapel Rd. In this photo blog I captured the city’s best graffiti from Mumbai-city to the suburbs. Have a look and tell us which you like best!
KHOTACHI WADI
Khotachi wadi is in south Mumbai, near opera house. I was amazed to see this detailed Mother Mary’s painting, and love the way she is holding baby Jesus.
This piece of Flower art is where MissMalini & Nowshad did their pre wedding photo shoot.
Even the doors in Khotachi wadi have art.
MARINE LINES
Right opposite to the Marine Line’s station, the Burhani Foundation uses wall art to spread awareness for water & energy conservation.
After the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the wall opposite to the Marine Line’s station has citizen messages calling for an end to terrorism.
Mumbai graffiti also spreads inspiration & tenacity.
TULSI PIPE ROAD
The wall art opposite to Phoenix Mills is not only fun and colourful, but is meant to spread awareness of spitting, a public health issue in Mumbai (we think!).
This one is for all the Shanatics out there (that’s die-hard Shahid Kapoor fans for the unenlightened)… ask Rashmi from Team MissMalini if you have any questions.
BANDRA
The Anarkali graffiti on Chapel Road is so real, filmy and in love.
And one area I could not photograph (because it was prohibited) is passing the western express highway till the sea link, and take the left going towards Bandra. You’ll will see beautiful graffiti on the ceiling of that mini tunnel.
This is just a sampling of all the artistic creativity on the streets of Mumbai. Did I miss any of your favorites? Tell us where and we’ll try to add them!
