Balenciaga was the latest house to appoint a new designer in the last round of fashion’s musical chairs. Alexander Wang, boy wonder of New York Fashion week, was the chosen one. But everyone was wondering if his brand of sportswear meets grunge would mesh well for the French house. Well, yesterday it looks like Wang pulled it off.
With a collection that was mainly black and white, he showcased softer silhouettes. Curved peplums, rounded shoulders and exposed backs dominated the collection. I actually think I like this line more than his own eponymous collection.
What do you think of his debut collection for Balenciaga?
