Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister Bela Sehgal – who edits all of his films – threw a surprise birthday party for him on Sunday night at Olive in Mumbai. Sources have it that the birthday boy had no inkling of the party till 9pm the same night. And when he finally reached the venue, he was overwhelmed to find a large crowd of friends, family and colleagues who had gathered to greet him on this milestone – his Fiftieth birthday.
But while Bhansali’s most famous stars were present – Aishwarya Rai (Devdas) and Hrithik Roshan (Guzaarish) – others like Rani Mukherjee (Black), Ranbir Kapoor (Saawariya) and Sonam Kapoor (Saawariya), were conspicuous by their glaring absence.
In fact, Ranbir’s rumoured flame, Katrina Kaif, was present at the party but he did a no-show! As for Sonam Kapoor, we’re told she’s busy shooting for Raanjhana in Delhi.
But the biggest gossip doing the rounds is that Rani skipped the party because of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s presence. Rumoured to be a former lover of Abhishek Bachchan, Rani had also replaced Aishwarya in films like Chalte Chalte. Ever since then, the two have been at cold war with each other.
