So it’s Valentine’s Day – yet again – and we’d like to know what memories do some of our celebrities associate with the occasion? And of course we must also know what they have planned for their special ones this year.
So read on to discover what makes Valentine’s Day special for Celina Jaitly, Pria Kataria Puri, Nishka Lulla and a host of other Page 3 celebs:
Nisha Harale Bedi (Model / Ex-Miss Mumbai): “Eleven years ago, Adam and I had our very first date on Valentine’s Day and if that is not enough, four years ago, we got married in Goa on Valentine’s Day with all our close family and friends in attendance. It was magical, so yes, Valentine’s Day is always a time for celebration for both of us.
I have no idea what Adam has planned for us this year but I’m sure it will be something deeply significant and loving!”
Nishka Lulla (Designer): “I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day so I’m not sure what to say here! I normally spend my Valentines Day with my best friend and we exchange little gifts, watch some girly flicks or serials over popcorn and have long chats. I have no clue what I’m doing this year sine I have not planned anything in particular!”
Taaha Shah (Actor): “My most memorable Valentine’s Day experience would be when my mommy dearest bought me a Mercedez SLK280 in a deep maroon color. That was hands-down my best Valentine EVER!
As for this year, well, I’m single but I will try and discover what love is when I go out with a group of crazy friends who are couples and maybe try to score myself a Valentine, too!”
Maryam Zakaria (Actress): A few years ago in Sweden I got three huge heart-shaped bouquets of flowers delivered to my place and you know what – it never said from who it was. It was simply signed by an “Admirer.” I felt that was a beautiful gesture and hence it is my favourite Valentine’s Day memory.
This year, I will be shooting for a Bollywood film on the 14th of February. But I think I will meet my friends after the shoot. Also I always send my mother three red roses every year to tell her that I love her.”
Celina Jaitly (Actress): My most memorable Valentine’s Day would probably be from last year when I was seven months pregnant with our twins and (obviously) was a walking volcano of emotions. My husband Peter had arranged a very special dinner evening for us. So after managing make up and hair and a dress which, no matter what I did looked like a little tent, Peter turned up with roses after office to pick me up and I sat and wept for an hour because my Jimmy Choos wouldn’t fit. And then, of course, thanks to that my make-up ran, and Valentine’s ended up being spent weeping over (even) the family dog which had passed away TEN years ago (thanks to the hormones)! Ultimately, Peter got me my favourite dinner from our club and we watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S on TV.
This year, we’ll unfortunately not be celebrating the day together because I will be on a flight, heading for a shoot!”
Pria Kataria Puri (Designer): “My most memorable Valentine’s Day was in Beirut, Lebanon, last year. It was a surprise holiday planned by my husband Sumit and I had no clue. I think it is by far, the most romantic place in the world – especially their ski resort.
This year, Sumit had planned a special evening for Valentine’s night as I was supposed to fly back to Kuwait on the 14th morning. However, my dad was unwell in Delhi and since I stayed back to be with him, he is going to be my Valentine this year. But I’m sure Sumit might surprise me. You never know him!”
Shama Sikandar (Actress): “My most memorable Valentine’s Day experience was long ago with my best friends. We went to the JW Marriott Hotel and I saw these yummy heart-shaped pastries in red and I just couldn’t take my eyes of them. I wanted to grrraaabbb them all. However, the shop’s manager recognized me and gave me pastries for free because my TV show was a super hit and he was my fan.
I have no clue what Alexx and I will be doing this year! I will wait for him to surprise me!”
