The annual Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, which concluded yesterday, saw a number of film enthusiasts attend a screening of the movie Lage Raho Munna Bhai followed by an interactive session with actor Boman Irani.
The talented actor and phenomenal orator captivated the audience with his charm and wit. He shared with them how hard they worked as a team along with director Rajukumar Hirani to bring back the notion of “Gandhigiri” and how they had to make the concept that is otherwise serious an entertaining film that would strike a cord across ages and social strata.
The festival also screened the award wining film Rang De Basanti, which was followed by an interactive session with none other than the acclaimed director of this movie Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. In a candid discussion with the audience, this highly accredited director spoke about the movie, his experience while making it, his thought process and his inspiration behind this cult movie.
He also addressed questions about his other movies like Aks, Delhi 6 and the forthcoming Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
And finally, musicians Salim-Suleiman brought the house down at Asiatic steps with a fabulous concert. Mini Mathur was the compere for the evening and director husband Kabir Khan and her children were cutely supporting her in the audience.
Director Sanjay Gupta was also called on stage to give out awards for a short film-making contest.
