The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be telecast LIVE on Vh1, courtesy of NESCAFÉ. Tune in: Feb 11th at 6:30 am for LIVE telecast, and 9 pm for a primetime repeat.

The A Team by Ed Sheeran
The song, about a young girl’s descent into an endless web of drug addiction and prostitution, is a true story, inspired by this girl named Angel who she met whilst playing a X-mas gig at a homeless shelter. He wrote that song at a student flat and recorded it for less than £200, and made the video for under £20!
The song was voted, by a pool of songwriters and composers, as the best song musically + lyrically at the 57th Ivor Novello Awards – not bad, eh?
And oh, Eddie is mates with Harry Styles, and has even tattoed Harry with a “little locket padlock thing” on his hand. *buries face in shame for knowing this trivia*

Miguel wrote this song for his girlfriend, model and artist Nazanin Mandi – well sweet, no?
“I had been on a long trip and was anxious to see her. That’s where the song began, with that emotion while I was on the plane. I don’t remember how I got from ‘These lips can’t wait to taste your skin’ to the end of the song, but when I listened to it, I thought, ‘This is special.’”

Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You) by Kelly Clarkson
The song, reminds Kelly of Since U Been Gone, and was inspired by the Friedrich Nietzsche quotation, “That which does not kill us makes us stronger.”
“That song is just a gold mine – it’s a little bit pop, a little bit pop-rock, a little bit urban, a little bit dance, and it ties everything in. And everybody loves that message. ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.’ It’s a perfect representation of my life.”
We Are Young by Fun featuring Janelle Monáe
Fun’s lead singer Nate Ruess says the lyrics were inspired by one specific night, after “my worst drinking night of all time.” He was kicked out of a cab for throwing sick all over it.
“The cabbie was demanding all this money, and all I could do was stand on the corner with my head against the wall. It took me another day before I was a functioning adult and could actually write down the verses.”
The song featured on Glee in season 3, episode 8, with the version by the Glee Cast debuting at #12 on the Hot 100 Billboard Charts the following week the episode aired, spurring Fun’s original to enter the same chart at #53.
This was the most listened to song on Facebook in 2012; the runner-up was Gotye‘s Somebody That I Used to Know.
