With looks like that, it’s no surprise that Bradley Cooper was named the Sexiest Man Alive in 2011 by People magazine. It’s one of those tags that are more style than substance, though, so you can see why someone who’d want to be taken seriously would try to shy away from it. Bradley’s got a pretty powerful role in Silver Linings Playbook, which is why, on The Front Row this week, Anupama Chopra asks him whether this is the film that’ll take him beyond that tag. Here’s an excerpt of the interview!Anupama Chopra: When you signed this role and while you were doing it, did you think that this is the one that’s going to take you beyond that tag of ‘Sexiest Man Alive’?
Bradley Cooper: I never thought of it like that. I just was so excited that David O. Russell would have me in his movie. That’s what I thought about.
Anupama Chopra: How much attention do you pay to these tags?
Bradley Cooper: Only when I’m doing interviews, they are talked about. (smiles)
Anupama Chopra: (laughs) Otherwise not at all?
Bradley Cooper: Yes. Pretty much. Not at all, I’d say.
Anupama Chopra: Is it flattering in any way?
Bradley Cooper: Sure, of course it’s flattering, yes.
Anupama Chopra: But you are able to disconnect from such labels?
Bradley Cooper: Well, there’s nothing to connect to really. What is it really? It doesn’t really exist.
