My pal Ami attended the Dubai International Film Festival and caught up with Suraj Sharma from Life of Pi on the red carpet. She says he was super cute and sweet 🙂 *awwww* here’s the interview she scored for MissMalini.com!
Congrats on the film! How does it feel to gain worldwide fame?
Thank you, thank you! It all feels so amazing and surreal. I knew the film was going to be amazing but after seeing the final product, I was blown away! I don’t really think of myself as famous, it’s just all so overwhelming in a great way.
How was it working with director Ang Lee?
It was an amazing, life changing experience. I can’t even put it into words. The man is a genius and yet he is so humble and down to earth. It was very inspirational working next to him day after day.
The story is you initially went to the auditions to support your brother. Can you tell us more about that?
Yes, I mean, I had no prior acting experience before this and it all just fell into place. My brother is very proud that I got the opportunity of a lifetime. He’s been on this journey with me since the beginning and he always has my back.
We have heard that you went through some intense training to prepare for his film.
Yes, definitely. I have never worked so hard in my life. It was all pretty intense but I can say I’m in pretty good shape now.
Do you have any upcoming projects either in Hollywood or Bollywood?
Maybe, let’s see! I’m open to whatever good opportunity comes my way!
Who are your favorite actors and actresses in Bollywood?
As far as actors go, Naseeruddin Shah, Boman Irani and Aamir Khan are definitely my favorites. As for actresses, they are all so beautiful so it’s hard to pick!
