“From Gossip Girl to The Newsroom, movies and TV shows have no idea how blogging actually works.”
My friend (and sometimes blogger) Amitabh Nanda sent me this link, playfully pointing out that they’re giving blogging a bad name on shows like Gossip Girl & News Room. There are two things I love about this; 1) That it’s possible Amitabh watches Gossip Girl and 2) That the article by Alyssa Rosenberg is actually pretty bang on.
Amruta Khatavkar from Team MissMalini read the article and says that the last line is her favorite, I tend to agree 🙂“Bloggers aren’t just passive observers of the lives of more interesting people any more. And from the Upper East Side to the White House press room, it would be nice if television and movies started recognizing that they’re capable of breaking real news—or even, sometimes, being the story.”
To the moon 🙂
PS. Thanks to Mr. Nanda I also got to talk about my first love – radio, at Hill Spring International School to 200 kids who are contemplating putting together some children’s programming on local radio in Mumbai. Ah the memories. I mis you Go92.5fm, I really do. xoxo
