Funnily enough I happened to come back to Cheri (in Delhi the same night) after hitting up birthday dinner with my BFF Diya Kapoor at Smoke House BBQ (where the food is AMAZING btw) and boy had the scene changed from the Clarks India London street-fair sipping prosecco vibe! Now it was a full on house party (and by house I mean the music, not the location.)
PS. Cheri is a really awesome spot which you must check out the next time you visit Delhi. It has a great courtyard and terrace plus a cosy restaurant/bar inside. It’s right next to Blue Frog at the address One, Qutab. Oooh fancy 🙂 xoxo
Turns out it was the album launch of DJ Jayant aka “Jitter’s” Anxious Awakening, especially planned to coincide with the date 12.12.12. Spotted in attendance Sujal Shah, Surelee Joseph, Chandni Nasir, Gaurav Gupta, Rahul Khanna, Manish Arora, Gaurav Raina, Tapan Raj, Anushka Menon, Ambika Pillai, Sushant and Gautam Kalra. (Yup, Delhi has a massive model/designer party brigade by the looks of it!)
Here’s the music dish: Anxious Awakening was conceived with the aim of charting a new course within dance music, one that fuses and melds genres like techno, minimal, progressive and psychedelic into a technical, intelligent package. Its various layers and textures reveal hints of these known styles but presents them as a clean slate. While there are moments of minimalism, the album, as a whole, is crafted with a listener and a club enthusiast alike in mind.
Whatever that means, it sounded pretty damn good to me 🙂 listen on beatport xoxo
