Twice before, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan has missed out on receiving the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Letters), the second highest French civilian hounour. Finally, however, she will accept the award tomorrow, on her birthday.
Ash was supposed to receive the award in 2009, but cancelled because her father had fallen ill. The event was supposed to be held again last year, but the French government postponed it out of a sign of respect for those affected by the Mumbai bomb blasts. So she will now receive the award tomorrow, on her birthday, and her entire family will apparently be there to cheer her on.
Here’s congratulating Aishwarya on her award!
