While Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were getting married in one part of the city, Shahid Kapoor had to attend a brand engagement for Pioneer in another part! How unfortunate that he had to engage with the press on the day of the Saifeena wedding – you can imagine the kind of questions that he was opening himself up to. I think he handled it well, though, all things considered. Here’s what he said!
“I would like to congratulate the family first. Marriage is a big decision and it’s a big occasion for the family. I have known Babita and Randhirji for a while. A daughter’s marriage is a big thing. I wish Saif and Kareena a happy married life. I hope they stay happy together.”
He further went on to say that he hopes Kareena continues to work after marriage, since she’s one of the finest actresses in the industry.
When asked for tips of handling link-ups and break-ups, here’s what he said:
“What can I say on break ups and link ups? Love is beautiful but everything should not be taken seriously. There are many aspects in life.”
He was also asked what he thinks are the positive and negative points of marriage, to which he said that he will analyse that once he gets married, and he’s happy where he is for now. He did maintain, though, that when the time comes for his wedding, he won’t hide it from the media.
I guess this at least means he won’t be hounded by the media now, since his comments are already out there and there’s not much more to be said. Smart move on his part to answer the questions gracefully instead of being all “let’s just stick to what we’re here for” which would have been convenient temporarily but would have done him no favours in the long run. What do you think?
