While filming for Ek Tha Tiger, Salman Khan had apparently promised director Kabir Khan that he would consider doing a sequel of the film if it broke the 100cr figure during the Eid weekend. While that has happened – and the film continues to do great business – our spies tells us that Salman has backtracked, and is no longer willing to do a sequel. Here’s why.
Even though it did well, Salman had several issues with his director and was overall not pleased with the experience of working with Yash Raj Films (this was his first time working with the production house). He even had issues with them post the film, when trying to host a screening. And, to top it off, word has it that even YRF is not too pleased with him, thanks to the tantrums he threw on sets – so they might be unwilling to work with him as well. But that leaves Kabir Khan in a lurch, who is all set to continue Tiger and Zoya’s story, and make it into an entire series.
We’ll have to see how this issue pans out, and whether all parties involved are willing to bury their differences to make another superhit film… and mint a lot of money in the process.
