NASA has just released the clearest picture ever taken of the Red Planet – and it’s a stunner. Stitched together using 817 separate images, these are the latest visuals to be returned to Earth from the space agency’s Mars Exploration Rover named Opportunity. These pictures were taken over four months during the most recent Martian winter, while the rover was immobile.The good folks over at Mashable have some great close-ups from the Mars panorama which are worth checking out.
